RENEW Boston- Provides FREE home energy assessments and free upgrades as well to those who qualify. These include insulation, air sealing, water-saving devices, and high-efficiency light bulbs. Renew Boston also provides services to help businesses with technical assistance and financial incentives to become more energy-efficient.

RENEWABLE ENERGY
Solar Boston- The Mayor announced the goal of increasing Boston’s solar energy capacity to 25 Megawatts by 2025. The program encourages solar energy installation by easing permitting requirements, mapping feasible locations, and planning the city-wide bulk purchase, financing, and installation of solar technology. You can make huge changes to your carbon footprint by driving less frequently (especially for short walkable/bike-able trips), eating locally (and less meat), and reducing your home electricity + heat consumption (think about cold wash cycles for laundry, line-drying clothes, and energy-efficient appliances when available).
