Description: Join 2012 REI Stewardship Grant Award Recipient the Franklin Park Coalition for a day of removing invasive plant species from Boston largest urban park. Enjoy the crisp fall air and a morning of clearing leaves from historic steps and ruins or removing invasive plants. Help preserve Franklin Park’s marvelous landscape. We’ll supply training, gloves and tools if you supply the labor. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and old closed-toe shoes. Solarize MA workshop, Aug. 1

Come learn about a state program that’s designed to lower the cost of going solar for homeowners and small businesses through bulk purchasing. Solarize Mass – Boston is a new community initiative of the City of Boston, MA Clean Energy Center, and the Green Communities division of the MA Department of Energy Resources that makes getting solar easy and affordable. Splash! Water Fair, July 17

SPLASH! A fun water fair devoted to informing and engaging youth in activities, demonstrations and talks on the environment and careers in water management (see flyer).  50% of water professionals will be eligible for retirement in the next 5 – 10 years. This will leave many open positions, all of which require training and certifications. The target audience for SPLASH are men and women, ranging in age from 16 – 24, who are residents of the greater Boston area. View a flyer here.

Sustainability Guild International (the Guild) is a Boston-based social enterprise dedicated to community-driven sustainability and innovation. From August through September, the Guild will be providing opportunities for community members to showcase and share their talents in beautiful, outdoor venues in the Bowdoin/Geneva and Greater Grove Hall neighborhoods.

Perform! Want to show the community who you are and what you do? We are seeking talented individuals and groups to participate in weekly performances:  Friday evenings, 5 to 7 p.m., Bowdoin/Geneva Neighborhood; Saturday evenings, 5 to 7 p.m. Greater Grove Hall Neighborhood.

Dance! Seeking experienced  dancers of all styles to lead  community dance events under the stars! These gatherings will take place: Friday evenings, 8 to 10 p.m., Bowdoin/Geneva Neighborhood; Saturday evenings, 8 to 10 p.m., Greater Grove Hall Neighborhood.

Teach! Got skills? Seeking those interested in leading skill-building workshops and demonstrations.
