Urban Agricultural Zoning in Dorchester, Tufts Panel, Feb. 22
Tufts UEP is hosting an Urban Agricultural Zoning in Dorchester Panel, featuring Tad Read (BRA), Mimi Ramos (New England United for Justice), and Glynn Lloyd (City Growers)!
The City of Boston has initiated an urban agricultural zoning pilot in Dorchester. This effort has generated both support and tensions within the community. This panel will bring together key stakeholders in the process to share their perspectives and experiences. They include Tad Read, project manager with Boston Redevelopment Authority; Mimi Ramos, director of New England United for Justice, a community group representing local residents; and Glynn Lloyd, local entrepreneur and founder of City Growers, a new urban farming business. The panel will be moderated by UEP Professor Julian Agyeman, who recently co-edited the new volume: Cultivating Food Justice: Race, Class, and Sustainability. Attendees are encouraged to bring lunch and food to share.*
