view from ronan parkNow the weather is warming, thoughts turn to things green & leafy. Check out some of the community-affirming work going on in Dorchester’s local green spaces:
Ronan Park – 11 acre city park, walking distance from Fields Corner, blending dog & people recreation;
Dorchester Park – 26 acre city park in Lower Mills;
Elmhurst Street Park – newly constructed “neighborhood backyard” near Codman Square;
Byrne Playground – check out the renovation plans for this Clam Point play area;
Geneva Cliffs Urban Wild – walking trails and nature sanctuary at Bowdoin Street and Geneva Avenue;
Sharon’s Park- a new neighborhood-built green space at Columbia Road and I-93. And there are many more.
Starting from Franklin Park, a Shiny Green Dot bike ride on April 25 will loop through Dorchester and visit some of these spots, newly cleaned as part of Boston Shines.
