Biking in Dorchester!

Below are resources that promote biking, walking, and better public transit in Dorchester

Ashmont Cycles -A full-service bike shop in Peabody Square. Join them for Wednesday night bike rides (takes a break October through March)!

DotBike- An organization for bikers in Dorchester to advocate for better bike accommodations.

Hub On Wheels- Hosted by Boston Bikes and the City of Boston, annual citywide bike ride every September.

Boston Biker- “A Community for Cyclists in Boston”

MassBike- “Better biking for Massachusetts”

Green Streets Initiative- A grassroots effort based in Cambridge with the goal of creating “Safer, healthier and quieter streets and more vibrant communities for commuters and citizens of all kinds.”

WalkBoston- Advocates for improving walking conditions and promotes walking as a form of transport and recreation that builds stronger communities.

Boston Complete Streets Initiative- Led by Department of Transportation, “the new Complete Streets approach puts pedestrians, bicyclists and transit users on equal footing with motor-vehicle drivers”. Read about the project for Peabody Square.
